Go be a Visitor to Bethlehem in Kenya
Some people contact us because they are excited about what we are doing here in Kenya. We would encourage you to visit the home in Kenya if this is you.
We do ask that you contact us prior to booking flights etc. we are very happy to talk with you. We do ask potiential visitors to provide character references and a Criminal Record Bureau check (enhanced) if they wish to stay as guests on the premises. which you can obtain through the Police. You can appreciate due to the nature of our work with vulnerable children, this is an essential requirement.
As well as providing your own flights, visas and innoculations, a contribution towards your maintenance on agreement plus pocket money, would be required. This would be on a work experience basis. Again please contact us for further details. Alternatively we can provide a list of local safe accomodation upon request.
Our current home 'Bethlehem' is situated on the edge of the tea plantations of Limuru about 20 miles north west of Nairobi, with an altitude of 7100ft above sea level and a location 20 mins from the breath taking view of the Great Rift Valley and Mount Longonot.
Nakuru National Park is just over 2 hours away with close up sightings of Rhino, Lion, Buffalo, Giraffe, Baboon, Zebra, Gazelle, Waterbuck and very occasionally a Leopard, not forgetting the fabulous flocks of flamingos.
We are a home run on Christian principals and it would be necessary for you to fit into the life of our faith community.
In the past we have been visited by post-graduate students and one of them enjoyed it so much she extended her stay! Recently we have been visited by people from other organisations.
If you are gifted in music, dance, drama or teaching you are especially welcome. Coming to see us is not a holiday but an opportunity to use your gifts and talents to bless those who are so underprivileged.
